Supporting Little Compton
Town of Little Compton Employees
The Commons Foundation is committed to enabling Little Compton’s public sector workforce to live in the town they serve by helping families put down roots in our community. Through our programs, employees are able to access the additional assets needed to purchase or build a home in our community. Living and working in our community increases their understanding of the community.Small Businesses/Sole Proprietors/Little Compton Employers
In Little Compton, many of our businesses and homes rely on the services provided by sole proprietors or small businesses. Retaining these services is critical to building a sustainable future for Little Compton. Through our programs, we partner with the employees of Little Compton businesses to provide attainable housing needed to recruit and retain the workforce that delivers for our residents.Commercial Fishing Community
Commercial fishing is a historically significant part of Little Compton's indentity and economy. The port of Little Compton is a unique asset in our community. Enabling this industry through providing attainable housing for the workforce is key to ensuring the survival of this industry.Housing Trusts
The Commons Foundation is committed to partner with other housing organizations by providing funding for the construction of modest, affordable homes that may be part of a larger initiative. By working in partnership with landowners and local housing trusts, we help them expand their reach and accelerate their projects.
Argiculture and Farming
The Commons Foundation is committed to preserving Little Compton’s agricultural heritage by helping young farming families put down roots in our community. We provide funding for the construction of modest, affordable homes for farmers on properties that may also be designated for conservation. By working in partnership with landowners and local land trusts, we help ensure that a small portion of donated land can be used for essential farm housing—enabling new farmers to live where they work and continue cultivating the land that defines our town’s character.
Seniors
The Commons Foundation is committed to advocating for and supporting our town’s seniors by developing long-term, sustainable housing solutions that meet their evolving needs.
